An exhibition of B&W photographic prints. Air is not visible. The clouds and the water of the sea, lakes, rivers, and ponds are the pallet, the medium, with which the air makes itself known. The water and the clouds each interact differently with the air and demonstrate the air's emotions, motions, whims and intensities. As water and clouds are different media, they represent the same air in their own unique ways. These change in a moment allowing me to capture two-dimensional pieces of time.

This exhibition reimagines the life of Sailor's 7th great-grandmother, Susanna Beal Milliken--the first recorded "doctoress" of Mount Desert Island, Maine. Susanna's story survives only in fragments, scattered among archival documents and overshadowed by the narratives of men. Let your imagination run wild as you sculpt creatures. There is no right way (and no wrong way) to make a creature. Instead, create them completely from your imagination or based on images from different living animals, combined to make something monstrous! Art Always and Grove House Sewing Studio are joining forces to bring you this special 4-week fabric design and sewing workshop where you'll leave with a one-of-a-kind, sewn tote! Spend the first two weeks (Oct 7 and 14) in the Art Always studio designing, creating, and printing your own block stamps onto pre-cut fabric pieces and then head to the Grove House Sewing Studio for weeks 3 and 4 (Oct 21 and 28) to sew them into a 13"w by 15"h bag with straps!

Tiny Book Ornament at Antler Editions

In this class we will create tiny books that hang from a loop as ornaments. These tiny books are 2"x3" and contain 84 blank hand bound pages. Students will choose their spine fabric, end band color, and marbled paper. This is a great introduction to bookbinding, all skill levels welcome, must be able to thread and handle a needle. All materials and tools will be provided to students. This is a make and take class.

Instruction will be given on composition, color, cutting technique using hand tools, and how to assemble pieces to create flow. Then, we will cast our mosaics in concrete, so your stepping stone holds together permanently and has a flat surface.This class has been a favorite over the years, well over 800 stepping stones have been made by my students.
